SFC (R) Dan Corbett
SFC(R) Dan Corbett is a native of Brunswick County and a 1987 graduate of South Brunswick High School. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2010. Over his 22 year Army career he served with the 650th Transportation Company (US Army Reserve), Wilmington, NC; 2nd Infantry Division, Korea; 11th and 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Stewart, GA; 1st Cavalry Division, Ft Hood, TX; 54th Quartermaster Company (Mortuary Affairs) Fort Lee, VA; US Army Central Identification Laboratory-Hawaii, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii; 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, LA; and the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. SFC Corbett is a veteran of 3 tours of Iraq and Afghanistan and numerous other missions around the world into such locales as Vietnam, North Korea, Kwajalein, Papua New Guinea, Laos, Thailand, China, Samoa, Midway, Japan and Cambodia with his work as a POW/MIA Search and Recovery Team Sergeant.
His awards include The Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), The Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), The Joint Service Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon with 3 numeral, Overseas Service Ribbon with 5 numeral, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon with Bronze Star device, NATO Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Campaign Star, Iraq Service Medal with 4 Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Army Wheeled Vehicle Driver's Badge.
SFC Corbett has a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with an emphasis on Education through Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS.
He has been married to the former Lori Sellers of Hinesville, GA for over 20 years and has one daughter, Emily, who is teaching English in Korea.
