*Attendance issues

*Coordinating referrals to outside agencies

*Helping to create a safe and positive learning experience.

Taking Care of Your Mental Health

How Students Can See The Counselor:

  •  Individual Counseling

Students in grade 3-5 are able to fill out a self-referral form and place it in the counselor's mailbox or complete an online referral form from the Counselors Google Classroom page.  All students may also meet with the counselor if their parents, teacher, or administrative staff refer them to see the counselor.

    Small Group Counseling

Students in grades K-5 will complete a Universal Screener for SEL.  Students can also be referred by a parent, teacher, or administrator.

    Classroom Guidance/Large Group Counseling

Students in K-5 will have class lessons to help support social, emotional, academic, and career development.

Attendance

  • Missing School is Missing Out!

Try to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours.

If your child asks to stay home, remind him/her of what they will miss, such as their reading group or PE class.

    Did You Know?

    • Missing school as early as Kindergarten can cause children to fall behind.
    • Missing 10% (18 days) can make it harder to learn to read.
    • Missing a day or two every few weeks can cause students to fall behind.
    • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
    • Absences affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down to help the child to catch up.
