For me, everything in life especially learning, is adventurous and exciting.  Empowering children to be all they can be brings me joy, and I’m all about joy! I am so appreciative of the wonderful opportunity of being here with you, and very much looking forward to working together in creating a learning environment that is both nurturing and joyful.

I’ve been a teacher for the past eighteen years, mostly in the lower elementary grades, and teaching children to read is especially near and dear to my heart. My strategies for teaching involve learning games as much as possible; I’ve learned that keeping it fun, yet academic, ensures not only greater retention but more active student engagement as well. 

When I’m not teaching and learning, I love to indulge in outdoor activities, especially gardening, biking, observing nature,  and swimming. Indoors you will likely find me reading, cooking and eating!

Not only am I a teacher, but I am also a wife, mom, and grandmother as well; so I have great respect for keeping a healthy life/work balance.
