Attendance

Attendance is key for a student's learning. Please try to have your child at school as much as possible. Often times there are not worksheets, etc. that can be sent home to catch a student up on missed learning or classwork. In second grade most of our weekly assessments/tests are given on Fridays.

Students are required to bring a note from a parent or doctor upon returning to school following an absence. Refer to the calendar/handbook for further information on attendance and tardiness.

Check-In/Check Out

While it is important that all children attend school all day, we realize that there are times a child must be absent or attend appointments. When students arrive at school after 8:35 a.m. a parent must stop by the office, sign the student in, and obtain a check-in slip for admission to class. If you know in advance that you will be checking your child out early, please send a note to your child’s teacher. Students must always be checked out through the office.
