Mrs. Denise Anen

Welcome to second grade! My name is Denise Anen and I will be your child's teacher this year.  I'm excited about spending this year learning, exploring, and making memories with your child.

This is my 19th year teaching and my third year teaching at Southport Elementary. I graduated with a B.A. degree in English and Elementary Education from Georgian Court University in New Jersey.  Then I continued my education by earning my M.A. in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialist Certification from Georgian Court University. 

My husband (Chris) and I moved from New Jersey to North Carolina three years ago. We have one son (Tyler)  and two dogs (Layla and Kylie). My hobbies are going to the beach, reading, gardening and painting.
