1SG Williams has been assigned as an Army Instructor, North Brunswick High School Junior ROTC Program since July 1999. He retired from active duty after 20 years of service on 31 August 1999, as the First Sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Brigade, United States Army Field Artillery Training Center, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During his career in the army he served in several positions to include: Howitzer Section Chief, Drill Sergeant, Gunnery Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, and First Sergeant. His major assignments included service with the 2/17th Field Artillery, Camp Pelham, Korea; 2/320th Field Artillery 101STAirborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; 1/8th Field Artillery, 25th Infantry Division, Scholfield Barracks, Hawaii, 2/29th Field Artillery, Baumholder, Germany; 1/77th Field Artillery 194th Armor Brigade, Fort Knox, Kentucky and the United States Army Filed Artillery Training Center, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (3 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (7Oak Leaf Cluster) Army Good Conduct 6th Award, National Defense Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon 3rd Award, and the Overseas Service Ribbon 3rd Award. 1SG Williams is a member of the prestigious SGT Morales and SGT Audie Murphy clubs. He is a recipient of the Honorable Order of Saint Barbra's. He is also a Gulf War veteran.
1SG Williams holds an AA degree from Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas and a BA degree in Leadership from Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska.
1SG Williams is married to the former Alicia L. Bellamy. They have two sons: Lashavis Antwone (Crystal) of Hudson, Ohio and Lieutenant Kenyon Williams presently serving in the US Navy. They have three grandchildren, Adam, Mishael and Moriah of Hudson, Ohio.
